Confirm the service and recipient
First confirm availability with the SACCO or another authorised provider. Verify the recipient name and account or phone details through a trusted channel.
Understand the amount to be received
Ask about sender, recipient and intermediary charges, plus the exchange rate. Request the total you will pay and the expected recipient amount, naming both currencies.
Ask about timing and tracking
Confirm expected timing, cut-off times, working days, tracking and what happens if details are wrong. Correction and refund timeframes can differ.
Keep the receipt and confirm arrival
Keep the reference and cost breakdown. The recipient should check their own trusted channel or statement; a payment screenshot alone does not prove arrival.
